98 Civic SiR?

I just picked up a civic from my buddy that runs an impound lot. Its a 98 civic 2 door. It has a bunch of mods and its pretty fast. It has an SiR badge on the back, and I'm trying to figure our if it is in fact an SiR, or if its just a badge swap. Anyone on here know how to tell if its a true SiR or not?

SiR is a Canadian model. The US only got the Si model in 99-00 for that generation. My guess is that it's just a badge some ricer slapped on. You could always just run the VIN# too (although this isn't always accurate for model trim).

VIN, and look at the engine code. That will tell for sure.
