First of all you need to tell us how much you are looking to spend. Is there any specific type if bike (sport, cruiser, touring, etc.) that you want?

for a first bike? find something small and regular so you can learn to ride a motorcycle.

You might be able to pick up a 96-97 GSXR 750 (bike of the year both years) for that much. Possibly an older R6 too. Other than that I would check out the YZF600, they look decent and are a good bike, but not real fast by today's standards. CBR900RR was a decent bike too, but some years are quirky. They were experimenting with the "flexible frame" thing, so some years suck. 93-95 were decent.

lol, my co-workers dad just got a chopper that looks just like the one that AJ posted, just no graphics on it. 25k worth of money he didn't actually have.

check out www.gixxer.com

they have alot of input on whaqt you should get and alot of it is towards the sv650. A VERY good beginner bike, still pretty fast but the seat sits a littloe lower making it not as agressive as the other bikes. GL

How hard/possible are engine swaps on bikes?
