dsmlink tuning

just thought i would post this up, the guys on the link forums arent being very helpful.

this is dsmlink v2 using the v3 software.

if anyone has anything they wanna add in.

20 psi, on pump gas with some e-85 in there.

the point of tuning is to get a decent base tune before switching to e-85.

Re: dsmlink tuning

If you have v2 then use v2. If you want to use v3 then pay to get the upgrade to use it.

Do you have a link to a log on the DSMlink forums?

the v2 software is alright, but the v3 software is easier to use, and has features v2 does not.

its actually recommended by ecmtuning to use the v3 software even if you have a v2 chip

Ahh so I take it you are just not using the gm trans feature are you? I don't think you can unless you get the wiring.

Re: dsmlink tuning

And I would either do only pump or only E85 so you know it's the same or as close to instead of mixing.

Re: dsmlink tuning

you have to have the v3 chip to have the direct maf cable.

i switched back to gas to figure out some issues i was having right after i switched to e-85 the first time. but some of the e-85 was still in so its not 100% pump gas.

this is just to get a good base tune before going full e-85

I'm confused are we looking at your car or mike's?

I'm not on my laptop so i can't see the logs, maybe swing by this weekend when u are out and about tuning or just whenever u are tuning and I can use my brain.

Re: dsmlink tuning

Looks like you have some good timing in there, car seems to run hot, the af est ratio is off, but that might be a v3 with v2 issue.

viridionplague 05-20-2010 05:36 PM

Re: dsmlink tuning

i never thought it ran hot, guess the highest ive ever seen it is 210, she idles at about 195

i always thought the timing was kind of low, being that v2 software stock says it should be 20-22 degrees in the 5-6000 rpm area.

i have no idea why afr-estimates are so far off. i just turned it on for shits and giggles.

i figure when this tank is out ill keep this as my base tune and switch to e-85. as i tried adding fuel and timing in a few spots and just couldnt keep the knock away at 20 psi.

Re: dsmlink tuning

it is kind of funny though, if you turn on the horsepower, at about 6k rpm, dsmlink calculates 440 hp and at 6200 rpm, only 300

I didn't like the way tq was up and down like a O2 sensor would act.
