Students sent home for wearing US flag on their shirts
Seriously... WTF!? The staff at the school didn't want a fight to break out. This is a load of bullshit.
"Administrators at a California high school sent five students home on Wednesday after they refused to remove their American flag T-shirts and bandannas -- garments the school officials deemed "incendiary" on Cinco de Mayo. The five teens were sitting at a table outside Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, Calif., on Wednesday morning when Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez asked two of them to remove their American flag bandannas, the Morgan Hill Times reported. The boys told the newspaper they complied, but were asked to accompany Rodriguez to the principal's office. The five students -- Daniel Galli, Austin Carvalho, Matt Dariano, Dominic Maciel and Clayton Howard -- were then told they must turn their T-shirts inside-out or be sent home, though it would not be considered a suspension. Rodriguez told the students he did not want any fights to break out between Mexican-American students celebrating their heritage and those wearing American flags." http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/05/06...gs-cinco-mayo/ |

Re: Students sent home for wearing US flag on their shirts
I just read this a little bit ago. When is CA just going to fall off and sink into the Pacific? Since when is the American flag considered to be offensive within our own country?
Cinco de Mayo pretty much got zero press down here, nor did I hear of any big celebrations or events surrounding it. |

There was a time where being unpatriotic would get you killed... can we bring that back yet?

Re: Students sent home for wearing US flag on their shirts
This country is becoming so ass-backwards it's ridiculous. Soon it's gonna be illegal to show any sort of patriotism or pride for anything because a fight might "break out". So that means anybody with a flag other than an American flag on the 4th of July should put them away?

Re: Students sent home for wearing US flag on their shirts
Cali is full of gang bangers, even if it's at a prestigious school. that is complete bs.

Re: Students sent home for wearing US flag on their shirts
This is AMERICA bitch if you dont like it go back to your own country
|
Re: Students sent home for wearing US flag on their shirts
So let's get this straight, it's wrong for a group of kids to wear an American flag on cinco de mayo because it offended a Latino school principle, but it's OK for thousands of illegal immigrants to waive the Mexican flag on top of an upside down American flag while marching on our capital to protest illegal immigration?
