JE pistons and misc

I am looking into purchasing a block and head. The block is suposed to be filled with JE pistons and Eagle rods, will it be stamped on it some were to tell if they really are what they are? For the head it is ported is there any way he could of done it him self and messed it up??? any input would be awsome!

My je pistons are marked on the bottom of the piston. You can't miss it. Eagle rods, I think the easier way to tell those is to pull it out and see if it's marked on the side.

I'd be afraid of a ported head unless you knew the person knows what they're doing. DSM heads need little to no porting unless you're the top 10% of the group.

maybe, maybe not. I wouldn't take the chance, stock DSM heads are cheap.

For instance, I've heard of people gasket matching the exhaust runners on a head. That would make it absolute junk.
