Help in MN

Hey I live Rockford,MN and I have a 97 GSX eclipse with a 6 bolt swap. I rebuilt the motor and am now ready to time it. I was wondering if someone could help me time it the first time. I just dont want to have thrown all this money into it and have to take it back out or buy more parts because I messed the timing up.Yes I have read tech articles and have a Chilton, but would be alot better with someone with experience there.

I assume you are talking about base timing? Installing the timing components and belt onto the block right?

Did YOU rebuild the motor?

If you can rebuild the motor throwing on a timing belt should be cake. Its super easy to do with the engine out of the car. Especially if you eliminated the balance shafts.

Try vfaq.com. Plenty of info!

I have read all of the vfaq's and I have a guy build the internals on the block, and I just assembled the rest. I will try to put the belt on and time it correctly, but I was just asking if someone would be willing to help, so I know that the timing was done right. So I know im not gonna blow the motor on first start up.

You assembled a motor but cannot do timing yourself?

Where is rockford? How are you going to start the motor the first time? are you 100% sure the motor is assembled correctly? A lot can go wrong and its better to "measure twice and cut once" than to "cut once and be SOL"

He said he had a guy assemble the bottom end. Im pretty sure a monkey could bolt a head to a block.

Ya I had John at Motors By Gosh assemble my short block and my head, so all I had to do was put the head on the block and put on all the other stuff. And Rockford is 20 min west of Plymouth, MN on highway 55.
