Wooo, sounds like fun? I would strip all that paint off the head, that sounds like a bad idea.

Re: 4g64 95% Together

ok we'll see what happens... what if the paint is 1200 capable?

Re: 4g64 95% Together

Re: 4g64 95% Together

Doesn't matter, the head doesn't get very hot. The V8 guys paint aluminum heads for stock appearing classes, so it looks a little funny, but shouldn't cause any problems.

DSMs get very hot, A good way to tell is go to a meet and ask people to pop their hoods, then take a non contact temp reader on some of the parts that you have used high temp paint on. You will be surprized at just how hot it gets. You can get the non contact temp readers for cheap from places like harbor freight.
It wont likely cause a fire, but it will smoke like hell with a nasty smell, then while it burns off it will look like crap.
