I have my radiator off the car and i'd like to clean it up as much as possible for better cooling this summer..

What do you guys suggest, just run lots of water thru it? or use some special chemical?

Most auto part stores sell radiator cleaner...but you should do your entire cooling system too, not just the radiator (cooling system flush).

If you are not going to flush the entire system a hose on the inlet will work just fine.
