I read a black cook is the one who came up with the menu. She was happy that they finally let her make something for black history month.

I don't understand why people are making a big deal out of this. When I worked for Cargill they would have a special Black History Month menu every Friday during February. They get an entire month in their honor and now they're upset that its being acknowledged?

I think it fits the stereotype quite well I mean cmon Corn Bread and Fried Chicken!! I dont know ONE BLACK PERSON THAT DOSNT LIKE THAT! To me its the same thing as Christmas, Easter, thanksgiving etc. Why wait for a certain day to get together and show your family you love them or exchange presents on that certain day. Feeling all stressed out cause you feel obligated to.. You dont need a special day for that getting presents year round ROCKS ;).

Sure it fits a stereotype, but that doesn't make it automatically negative. It was something that was well intentioned, and they tried to gear it towards those being celebrated.

Do you think asians would be in an uproar of a similar celebration was offered to them and rice was in the menu?

Black people will get in an uproar no matter what. If NBC didn't offer a special menu or acknowledge Black History Month they'd be going berserk. Society allows them to do it (look at how much press this menu thing is getting) and they'll continue doing so until society as a whole (including the media) tells them to STFU.

Lol this is funny. I dont think its a big deal, offended no. Others im sure are angry, but i say get over it.
