My wife speaks Mandarin pretty much fluently. She can read/write Chinese also.

Four ways for Mandarin. 5 or 6 for Cantonese, and maybe some of the other 50+ dialects have more than four as well.

I've learned a little Vietnamese and now picking up some basic Thai. Mandarin is a nice sounding language compared to many.

Have you tried Chiang Mai Thai in Calhoun Square? Best Thai food I've found as long as you tell them to making it really hot.
