Interesting. I would have thought it would have been the other way around. using the supercharger to spool the turbo faster. but i umm. guess this would work. it would be interesting to see it driving and making a couple pulls.

That would defiantly take care of the lack of torque issue with those...

It's not a new concept, but pretty cool to see on a DSM. I remember seeing an article or something about a twin charged Focus that was pretty badass looking and put down really nice numbers, but I'll be damned if I can remember where that was, Google turns up nothing.

Damn, I was hoping that in the video he would of done a 3rd gear pull.

Yea I saw that vid a while back and was dissappointed that he didn't do a pull.

I'm sure the fact that it was raining might have been a problem. :scared:

I don't really care for these types of set-ups. Great for a show car, but you don't take advantage of either the turbo or the supercharger to their full potential. Noticed there was no inter-cooler, so he's basically double heating the air-charge. Try getting the boost under control, would also be a pain in the ass.

He said the car is really resist to detonation, even on pump... Who needs an intercooler then?

Re: twin charge ?

Well then he's barely making any real boost with it, which raises the question "why?", other than just to say he did it. Both the turbo and supercharger will beat the air and raise the temps.

Re: twin charge ?

He said he was running around 22 lbs of boost, 7 of which were from the super charger and that he could up the boost a little more even on pump if he wanted to. Yea it isn't 30+ PSI but that is still good boost even if you don't consider it 'real' boost. Also, the car is above 400hp and he planned to originally switch over to E85 or pure alcohol but decided there was no need for it since he reached the power levels he wanted and it resist detonation very well.

I agree with you in the sense that it's not the route I would ever think about going either, but he is obviously capable enough to do it and enjoys it. I would love to see his power band, it is more than likely the car makes 400hp for a lot of the power band, not to mention his torque is probably something crazy since it's a 2.3 and blown.
