cams for 50 trim

Just curious what people would run for cams for a 50 sized turbo, I was thinking HKS 272 or FP2's, Would these help stretch the hp out more towards 7500rpm? I run e85, any may be running upwards of 30psi. Are the cams going to make a serious difference over stock?

I would run 272's.

Run some HKS 272's and yes they will make considerable more power up top over the stockers.

I'm not at the moment... getting a O2 housing first, this spring/summer maybe.

no offense to cman3000 but web cams are probably the only cams i would stay far far away from unless you can find a set for like $125

new or used HKS 272's or bust! Keep it simple ;)

Otherwise, maybe look at GSC S2's, with a set of valvesprings (and fresh valve stem seals while you're in there!). If I were to upgrade the cams in my evo, they'd be these:

According to FP the FP2's are similar to the HKS272's but with more emphasis on the top-end while giving up a little low-end. The FP4R also looks like a great choice for a 50-trim if you're willing to replace your valve springs (basically a more aggressive FP2).

Re: cams for 50 trim

well the non x series FP cams don't need upgraded valve train I though.

The FP4R replaced the FP2x.

I have swapped my hks 272's in and out of 3 of my cars now. they are in the evo now, but will end up in the hatch this summer for some big ass cams for the evo and the 2.4 going in it
