I just bought a 97-98 Talon rear hatch w/o glass. I need to swap the glass out of my 95 hatch and put it into the 97-98 hatch.

Has anyone installed glass or know a good shop that they recommend?

TIA

It's not difficult, just cut out the glass(using a utility knife or a urethane knife).Clean most of the old urethane off the glass and the pinch weld, leaving a thin layer or clean all off and re-primer with urethane primer.Put a new bead of urethane(I like the 3m stuff) around the pinch weld, press in new glass.Check for good seal and your done.Should take around 30-45mins.BTW you'll have to get a new molding($40-$50), which goes on before you press the glass in.

Oh yeah, heat up the tube of urethane in hot water, right before you use it.And wear latex gloves.

Yeah I have installed glass on some past wehicles of mine with good results. I just wanted to know if there was anything different about the DSMs. I guess most autos are pretty much the same. My brother just called me and said he has winshield removal tools and tubes of the black winshield stuff from 3M. He made it sound pretty easy too.

The molding is the only difference between DSMs and most other auto glass.Don't waste your time with "glass removal tools", it takes like 5 mins with a utility knife.
