Anyone used this before?

Saw this linked on another forum and just wondering if anyone has any experience with it.

Seems like a good alternative to blue tape, for auto-x and other activitys. Thought it would be nice for the style cruises as well, if its good!

says it comes in a 18" by 100' roll for $29.99 or a 6" x 100' for $12.99.

for reference blue painters tape is 6.99 for a 2" by 180' so it would take $31 for the same amount of total sq ft.

It looks exactly like the wrap they use to hold pallets of stuff together. $30 for 100' of saran wrap? I can't believe it's easy to smooth out while applying since it clings so well and would look like ass if it wasn't smooth.

I'll pass. Cone marks and rock chips add character.

According to their website its thicker than saran wrap... it is listed as 2.5 mil (.0025 in) polyethylene film with a water based adhesive. Saran wrap is .0004 in thick Low density polyethylene. Seems like it would be better than just saran wrap.

I don't think getting all the wrinkles out would be the end goal as its a temp (7days) protection.

Would it have been worth it for the trip to Texas Hughes with all that iowa dirt lol!

* I dont mean to sound like im defending it, i just saw it today and it made me curious....

Images off of website for reference: (wow those are big, anyone make them smaller?)

It's clearly better than typical food-grade saran wrap, but would you be caught dead with that stuff on your car, looking like that? I sure as hell wouldn't.

A guy from Rochester with an Evo that autocrosses found that sheets of the contact paper used to line kitchen drawers works great. He has a white car, and while the "clear" stuff has a frosted appearance it didn't look bad at all and applied much better than this wrap.
