With balance shafts removed do i need oil pump aligned?
 

i was just taking apart a bare 6 bolt that i received, and i was wondering if the balance shafts are eliminated would it matter if the oil pump is lined up or can it be anywhere in the timing? Just curious?

I wouldn't think it would matter, but I would say line it up just to be on the safe side.

It can be anywhere as stated before. I usually line it up just to add that extra mark when you recheck everything after spinning the motor over a couple times.

Doesn't matter. But for shits and giggles I would line it up anyway. Just so you can sleep easy at night.
