new guy from plymouth

whats up guys just picked up a 97 yellow gs-t spyder been around these cars alot over the years but was involved in motorcycle stuntriding so that took most of my time but couldnt stay away from the dsm's to long so far the car is pretty stock minus a fmic greddy bov injen intake exhaust and some hard piping got a megan racing o2 housing and down pipe to go on but the car is lowered now and i hate it so im trying to get it back up to stock ride height just trying to locate some stock springs now so if anyone can help or has a good method to putting stock struts in the car front and rear im willing to throw someone some cash to help anyways hope to meet some of you guys soon.

Why not keep the upgraded struts and just go back to stock springs?

Edit - BTW, welcome! Grammar, punctuation, and the 'tab' button are your friend! ;) :D

it actually has the stock struts with ksport lowering springs normally im not the biggest fan of spyders but this one is alittle unique plus im kinda thinkin gsx conversion

Re: new guy from plymouth

What is it exactly that you don't like about it being lowered? The ride or the look?

Re: new guy from plymouth

i love the look but im going all out on the motor and it makes it rather hard to get underneath the car when its an inch off the ground lol i mean the thing looks mean as hell dropped but ive never been a huge fan of lowered cars personally

Re: new guy from plymouth

Why not go with some Eibach ProLine Springs? They don't lower the car much at all compared to your current springs and not much more than stock springs.

They just make the handling a little better and get rid of a little wheel gap. I really think you will regret going to stock springs with after market rims, it just looks plain silly.

i will definatly keep that setup in mind ive just got a ton of parts for the motor on the way so im tryin to cut the spending back for the moment lol which prolly wont happen

if your going all out on the motor your going to want the upgraded springs for launching your car and just use a jack and jack stands to get under it. they work wonderfully for me. I say just keep it lowered

^ +1. What good is having a lot of power if you can't hook up, or go around a corner well due to having crappy stock suspension?

Re: new guy from plymouth

i agree but for now its way to low for its own good gonna end up ripping the front bumper off

Get some quality lowering springs instead.

Re: new guy from plymouth

A lowered car doesn't mean better handling or better traction. Slammed cars are usually horrible. And that might be what he is getting at. Hell, for FWD drag racing, you don't want it low, you want the front bumper low, but not the car. You can't fit good tires when a car is too low and you want your axles straight, not at an angle for traction, power and less breakage.

u hit the nail on the head i think looks cool but its so low i dont want to break it and scrape the hell out of the bumper and wreck the paint kinda pointless just check the picture its wayyyyyyyyyyyy to low tires in the wheel wells no good already broke a cv axel cause of road construction and almost ripped my fmic off lol damn construction
