car tuned now it runs like shit?
ok so on thursday I had my car tuned at db and it ran awsome for a day and now it's doing all kinds of crazy stuff sometimes when i give it gas it starts building boost maybe up to 10psi then falls on its ass. then other times it will pull ok and build upto 20psi then feel like it kinda starts cutting out and knocks pretty bad.
I thought I had messed something up in dsmlink when I tried to save the tune to my own computer so I had shane email me the tune but i didn't mess anything up. I also haven't messed with anything on my car except I tightened the bov spring cause it would blow off at part throttle and my ect sensor the wires on the harness connector broke so I resoldered them but am still having problems with my ect. could this be from messing with the bov, or the ect being messed up? maybe developed a boost leak? I think I'm just ready to give up on this car. any help will be greatly appreciated. as soon as I figure out how to post a log I will post one |
Re: car tuned now it runs like shit?
I'm leaning toward major boost leak.

boost leak test before giving up always

Re: car tuned now it runs like shit?
If you're on a draw through setup do a boost leak test asap.

Re: car tuned now it runs like shit?
Boost leak test, and check your MAF; are all the honeycombs still intact?

Make sure the coolant temps are reading correct in Link and they aren't intermittently cutting in and out from correct readings to negative values.

Well if it fixed for a while, I'd say that's it and you just need to replace more of the wires. Cut back until you can find mostly non-corroded wires, then replace them all the way to that sensor. When I disected my 1990 1G harness to modify to fit in my quest, sometimes it was hard to find good wire. Since it's in a hot-ass engine bay for most of it's life it's easy for the wires to become difficult to hold solder.
