Re: vacuum lines

You can remove all emissions systems. Be sure to get an EGR block-off plate.

Re: vacuum lines

what would happen if i didnt and do i need to block off all the ports and stuff

Re: vacuum lines

You'll need to block off all the ports on the throttle body. You'll also have to block off the lines that go into the intake pipe after the MAS.

If you just unhook the egr from vacuum line it should stay closed I think, but you should really remove the whole EGR valve and block it off with a plate, it's cheap.

The FPR is hooked up to a solenoid for easier starting, but you can remove that and just hook it straight up to the intake mani.

Of course removing these things will give you a check engine light....

Re: vacuum lines

not so worried about that, im also thinking about doing a six bolt swap since my seven bolt jus threw a rod bearing after 100 miles on the build, what is a good budget way to go? i have a 96 GST wit a evo III

Re: vacuum lines

do u have to change anything for it?

Re: vacuum lines

you will have to machine your rods to get them to fit on 2g pistons, as there is a difference in wrist pin size.

Re: vacuum lines

what do i do about all the electrical connections that go to all those solinoids can i cut them off or jus tuck them away?

asshanson 08-03-2009 03:29 PM

Re: vacuum lines

Well if you don't have them plugged in you'll get the CEL, I'd leave the connectors there at least, not a lot of savings by cutting off the plugs.

Re: vacuum lines

so no check engine light if i leave the shit there jus disconnect the lines and plug the ports?
