Removing Rods from pistons

can anyone around here do that for cheap? I tried pressing them out myself by making my own jig and using a 5 ton shop press but they didnt budge even when I heated them up...

I got quoted 100 from MAP is that a good price?

thanks

Its hard to get pistons off without breaking them. A good machine shop will tell you that.

you can do this with out harming the pistons ... you need good heat when u are heating them up u have to get the rod and hotter than the pin for it to break loose u will hear a bang when its on the press then it is free ... ive done a few of them yeah u might want to practice on a junk piston first tho before u try it on a good one

if i remember correctly, my brother wanted this done to his GSR pistons. He called a machine shop and got quoted for $160 I THINK. I will ask him later.
