clutch went out already?

i have had this clutch i got from iceminion and he said it had alot of life yet. well i have gone at the most 1300 miles and it always slipped in 4th and 5th. now today it slipped in all 5 gears, and then went soft and i could shift, so i brought it home. is it because we could have put it in wrong or what could of happened?

what was your flywheel condition and step when you installed it?

Clutch pedal might not be adjusted right.

On the turbo flywheels it's very important to get the step right on. Non-turbo's not so much because of the way they're designed.

on the clutch assembly there has to be like a quarter inch of play before the clutch has pressuer on it there is a rod that goes to your mastercylendar that you can adjust it or u need to adjust your cruise control switch on the assembly

That doesn't sound too reassuring.

As mentioned before, I would ensure the clutch pedal is adjusted right. If not and it still slips, then good chance that tranny will have to come back out.

i just tryed to adjust the clutch pedal and it didnt do anything. with the clutch pedal pressed and when i try to put it into gear it grinds. this means i need a clutch right?

You could always just turn the boost down.

Re: clutch went out already?

i have the boost set at 12psi. it wont even go into gear period or go! i push the clutch in to throw into gear and all it does is grind. i dont think the clutch is inguaging, cuz its burnt out

Re: clutch went out already?

If you can't even get into gear, it could be that your clutch isn't fully disengaging, which is fixed via clutch pedal adjustment.

Or your tranny could just be that bad...

Re: clutch went out already?

i kno it will go if i push it hard enough into gear. because when i was goin down the road it went out and i jammed it back in and kept goin until i had to stop at a stop sign, then i tryed to go and it died so i decided to tow it back
