New old car... Photoshop anyone???
3 Attachment(s)
Just got back from Texas on Friday eveing, went to pick up another viper. This one is older (93) and has a decent amount of add-ons including the hardtop and windows in the pic. It is also an RT-10 (convertible style) like the other in my pic. It has some stuff done to the engine (ported head, cam, headers, etc) and made 46X rear wheel hp and a little over 500 rear wheel tourque on a "conservative" tune. I didn't need another but pretty much couldn't pass it up the deal as it was only $23k. I figured it would be better to mess with this car at the track than take my other car which has low miles.
Here is a link to the exhaust sound (stumpled across this on the viper forums): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPxHYQG56cw So far I like the car; just ordered up a power steering cooler and a line lock for it. Seems a bit faster than my black viper but we haven't lined them up. Hoping to get this thing out to the brainerd road race course quite frequently. Looking at drilled/slotted rotors, road race tires, and racing brake pads now. I have added a side pic. With the top on, it looks like the car needs a wing. Anyone good with photoshop who can add one??? I am also considering stripes, what do you think and what color (have seen black, sliver, and white stripes)? If anyone is interested in one of these, now is a great time to buy. I will probably be selling my black one pretty soon aswell. Here are a couple pics. Car is dirty but I guess you can't tell... |

Re: New old car... Photoshop anyone???
Thanks. I like the black one better unless I am cruising the lake ;) . The red one stands out a whole lot more which got me pulled over in Kansas on the way home. He let me off though with a warning (84 in a 70).
Some of these are pretty much on clearance. The market has dropped quite a bit on vipers in the past year. Alot of people with older vipers are finding it easy to sell the one they have now and buy a newer one as they can now afford it. I am probably going to sell the black one. I just painted a hardtop for that one but don't know how much more I will be driving it. Right now, the top is off the black one sitting in the garage and the top is on the red one. If I want no top, I will drive black, want a top, red. I can take people for rides but I hessitate on test drives as most people aren't used to the tourque. |
Re: New old car... Photoshop anyone???
Yeah the amount of TQ is rediculous I haven't driven my friends '05 around and the amount of TQ at any point in the RPMs is unbelievable.
If only I could let go of my DSM? :o( |
Re: New old car... Photoshop anyone???
^^^ That is why we had issues keeping James' (slowbubblecar's) viper on the track at Brainerd. I slid off the track twice and him once. Not that he is a better driver, just that I was pushing it a bit more than him ;)

Re: New old car... Photoshop anyone???
They are fun to drive. I got a little squirrelly with mine around a corner, but it's easy to correct. RWD and torque are a lot of fun, kinda like driving on an icy road, but in the summer. Nicely bought at $23k by the way.
