Sweet!!

So I take it you're no longer trying to keep it "streetable".

Re: MAPerformance FDSM Progress Pics

Can you add swingouts and still have the cage be "legal" or whatever the parlence of our times is for the ET's you're expecting?

Re: MAPerformance FDSM Progress Pics

You know I'm not really sure, but this definitely isn't a DD so I will just have to pry myself in and out on the weekends lol. What concerns me most is that we have to move to a funny car cage if we go quicker than 8.50 which will apparently be a nightmare in this chassis based on wheelbase and seat position :(

Re: MAPerformance FDSM Progress Pics

Well, you better not do that then. :D

Haha unfortunately we have some pretty aggressive goals for this year ;)

So is it the same turbo/engine setup?

Re: MAPerformance FDSM Progress Pics

yes it is from what I hear, maybe more boost, but more rubber to plant, better mounts for the motor so it doesn't flex, half concreted block, etc.

I dunno if it's just the camera angle or what, but it doesn't look like there's much clearance between those cage bars and the rear tires. Is there enough room there for suspension travel and tire stretch?

That's looking pretty sick guys. Good luck this year.

Good question on the cage interfering with the tires.

Looking good guys, nice progress made since I was there last!

Re: MAPerformance FDSM Progress Pics

Must be the camera angle as the tires aren't that close to the cage, but I see where it looks that way lol. Also, the block has not been hardblocked ;) And yes we have made a few changes to the setup in hopes of adding a little more power...

I thought you had said the Magnus was going to be cast. Looks purdy though!

Good luck with it all! If it was hardblocked, wouldn't that really kill it's streetability?

Billet ;) Everything from the plenum base down is one solid piece of aluminum...
