Is there any way to replace the timing belt without removing the crankshaft pully. I've tried everything i can think of to get it off. :headache: I've heated it up, impacted it, and it still won't come off. Please tell me if there is an easier way to do it.

Thanks

Curtis

You should be able to remove the 4 bolts that hold it on and the crank pulley/balancer should come right off. The center bolt stays on the crank shaft.

The pulley is easy, but doing the balance shaft belt which requires taking off the plate behing the large crank bolt can be a bear. I've had to heat up pulley bolts with Mapp gas and using a 600 ft/lb impact gun to get them off. Good luck.

12 foot breaker bar, out of a car, pressed up against a wall, and a big fucking hammer. Just imagine. Mike care to chime in?

I'm still working on my TB but w/all the problems I'm having I didn't have any trouble w/the crank bolt. I put my breaker bar on top of the axle extending onto the floor, put a clamp AROUND it and the axle, not on them. Had my brother hold the socket in the crank w/his foot and steady the end of the breaker bar on the floor from slipping out w/his other foot. I them just flicked the starter real quick and it broke lose. I also put tons of penetrating oil on it first.
