Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
I'll update this later, but wanted to start the thread. I have some dyno graphs on this car and I'll post the mod list right now.
Current mod list: Greddy Turbo Timer TurboXS Manual Boost Controller Buschur Catback 3" Exhaust Trustz Blue Gauge Overlay Ferodo DS-2500 Brake Pads Rotorpros Crossdrilled/Slotted Rotors FF/MAP Ported coated black Exhaust Manifold K&N Typhoon Intake AMS Mini Battery Kit K&N Valve Cover Breather Filter 255 Walboro Fuel Pump Grouppe-S 3 55mm Gauge Pod Buschur Manifold Cover AMS Front Mount Intercooler 52mm Prosport Gauges (EGT, Boost, Fuel Pressure/Temp) Rexpeed CF Gauge Overlay Rexpeed Gourney Flap Buschur Shifter Bushings Kracka Vents (you know it!) Hughes and I have high expectations of this car, only because we've put so much work into it and he knows I'll go on a killing spree if it doesn't perform well. It's beaten DB9's, Ferrari 430's, Porsche GT3s, etc. I'm just tired of losing to Vipers so hopefully this will get me to where I want to be, if not... it's time for a BBK Lite (or most likely an FP White) and a 9000 RPM redline. Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
Lite? Weak souce ;)
I like the list! |
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
400HP with E85? or do you wanna stick to 91-92-93 octane pump gas?
Nice mod list too |
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
3 bar MAP? 3 bar is only 43psi... Weak, son.
|
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
I'm guessing pump gas, a well setup evo can hit 360-ish whp on MAP's dynojet pretty easily.
|
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
^^OK, but an even better set-up pump gas Evo can hit about 394-ish on DB's dyno!! Not with a stock turbo though...
|
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
Why go with the lite when you can just get the full.

Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
BBK Lite because I want great throttle response with a bit more power, 3 Bar MAP mostly for logging, Youporn FTW!
And yeah to clarify 400AWHP on MAP's dyno with a stock turbo/pump gas is my goal. I'm shooting for the stars gentlemen! |
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
We can do it! 400whp on a Dynojet is a large goal on pump, but my fingers are crossed that we'll hit it and we'll definitely do everything possible to get in there. In about a month this car will pretty much be a fully prepped maxed out stock turbo Evo; only thing left untouched will be the short block. If we don't hit 400whp with the stock turbo, the BBK Lite will definitely be the little extra nudge you need. BBK Lite is a good choice b/c it flows more air up top than the stock turbo while maintaining the stock spool and response characteristics. This car will be one hell of a beast and I'm really looking forward to having it done. I expect nice fat 4k RPM wide powerband from 3k to 7k RPM's with a rev-limit set in the range of 8k or so.

Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
Polished/de-badged the FMIC, relocated some stuff, made a nice bracket for the carputer monitor, cleaned up some wiring for the gauges and polished the block for the new head gasket today.
Picking up parts from mitsu tomorrow and then waiting patiently for MAP to get my stuff ported. Stuff still to do: Full detail of engine bay Move EGT gauge wire Weld front struts from Mitsu's fuckup Fix battery tray Install wiring for radar detector Seal Grommet so the same thing that happened to Scheides doesn't happen to me. I have a busy week coming up. |
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
what kind of car is this? pics?
|
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
Its his '06 Evo IX MR.
|
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
You should spend less money on things like porting, valve jobs, throttle bodies and cams (seeing as how the stock mivec cams rock)
A new turbo would be a better hp/dollar investment. |
Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
I'd like a ride when it's done.

Re: Project P00n (Exotic Killer)
Well after a LOT of hard work and waiting we got it all put back together. Hughes stayed in town a day later to help me out. Bob worked to get my stuff done last Monday and on Thursday we fired it up. Everything in the engine bay is cleaned, I spent quite a while on it, all wires are tidied up and I'm VERY happy with the results. MAP's porting job as always was stellar, just took a LONG time :) and the car runs great.
First time ever doing anything like this, but as soon as the fuel pressure built again everything worked perfectly. We broke in the cams, drained the oil and put in new oil/filter and it was on it's way. I did a compression test today and it's 130 or so all away across the board, so it was obviously the head that was causing it. All I can say is I'm a VERY VERY VERY happy man and I love my Evo again and I'm proud of my friends and I's effort and hard work. A BIG fucking thanks to Hughes for all of his hard work and dedication, the man had my car running with one tune and he also helped me with most of the labor and choosing of parts/services and thanks to Scheides for all of his help with the block and timing belt stuff! Also without Mark's tensioner tool my car would have probably blown up, so thanks for letting me borrow that too man! |
