Ok, i usualy do not do a lot of burnouts, i will usualy just pull the e-brake and do a 3krpm drop and keep it around 5k rpm and thats as far as i go for a burnout..
Now i've seen some other people do burnouts and never could understand how they be so much smoke from their tires.. What needs to be done and how.. give more info to the newb.. -E |

Bleach under the tires.

Some tires just dont smoke as much as others.

Tie it to the dodge and go for it ;) Sounds like you are getting ready to put swanny's tranny work to the test. Have fun with that! :3gears:

Grow a mullet!
Burnout are dum, I like traction! why show how much traction you don't have? |
not yet, i want to break it in first before i put any stress on the trany... but i want to get all the facts straight before i do anything..

O.K. fine... just get some Dunlop tires and some H2O.
|
He already has the tires, he wants to kill them off completely before mounting the slicks. Sounds like a fun time to me!

Hold the ebrake and drop the clutch at the rev limiter.
|
hell before it didn't take anything higher than 2500 to brake them loose so i see no reason to drop clutch while bouncing off rev limiter!

You need to get into 3rd gear at 5k and you should see some real nice smoke, just as long as the wheel hop is little to none there should be no extra strain on the tranny doing this.

What about the probable damage to the car? like the differential pin, SMIC, brake lines, fenders, wheel well liners, after the tire falls apart? I like to watch people do stuff like this...but it's not my cup of tee, just my opinion.
|
I just rev up the motor to about 5k, dump the clutch and put my left foot on the brake just enough to keep the car from moving. Like this.
Burnout But of course that's with RWD. I guess I've never tried to do one with FWD. |
Bleach is what will get them to produce alot of smoke. You might want to put in new motor mounts if you don't already have them to reduce wheel hop (I know a guy that broke not one but 2 center diffs on an awd because of wheel hop and the new motor mounts fixed that) Also putting some coolant down might help to get the tires really spinning. I know of an almost stock evo spinning all 4 tires and roating on and axis spin thing when they put down water and a little colant.

I've never gone out of the 1st gear.. i guess that is what my problem is... :) alway splaying it safe..
