In keeping with its NSFW nomenclature, the FQ400 is putting out 403 hp at 6,500 rpm, with peak torque – 387 lb-ft of the stuff – arriving at an oh-so-usable 3,500 rpm. The extra grunt is thanks to a set of high-flow fuel injectors and a new turbo with low friction bearings, an uprated thrust bearing and high temperature turbine that Mitsubishi insists will keep turbo lag at bay. A new intercooler helps bring down the charge, a new ECU works its binary magic and a three-inch stainless steel exhaust exits at the center of the restyled bumper, complete with carbon fiber diffuser.

The exterior benefits from a carbon fiber front fascia, side skirts and rear wing, along with the Sonic the Hedgehog "Vortex Generator" mounted on the roof. The ride height has been dropped by 30 mm with a revised set of Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs, each hidden from view by front Alcon brakes and 18-inch, nine-spoke wheels shod in super sticky Toyo Proxes R1R rubber.

In addition to all go-fast bits, the FQ400 is fully loaded with Bluetooth connectivity, 30-gig hard drive, sat-nav and privacy glass, along with a carbon fiber gear knob and matching handbrake handle.

Mitsubishi claims the FQ400 will hit 62 mph in 3.8 seconds, impressive considering the cost of entry across the pond is a cool £49,999.

eye spy bigger FMIC (?), bigger hotside IC piping, HKS filter....and what's this? Center exit exhaust? Fancy! ....seems like they've just taken all of the basic mods you'd want and put them on to make a nice well rounded uber-evo. A few grand and you could do this to a $40k GSR, but whatever, kinda cool :) I like the bilstien/eibach combo, right up my alley ;)

Yeah, take your Mitsu and Nissan to the track and see who voids that warranty faster.

as far as im aware nissan is voiding warrenties on the gtr if it sees any dyno time or track time what so ever. also if the car is worked on in any respects other than specialy authorized dealerships.

i cant say i know a whole lot about mitsu policys though.

just seems a bit overbearing to make a "super car" then void the warrenty if you do anything other that drive it nice and simple on the street, no where near how that car was advertised or built to do. plus your still stuck with the most suffisticated piece of glass transmission youll ever buy.

sorry for the spelling errors but i dont much car to be proper at 3 am

The Nissan. Just being in the parking lot voids the warranty!

thanks scheides! The body-kit is kinda quaky but i like it a lot. Wish mitsu would team up with someone here and actually make a warrantied upgrade like this.

Ya, but a standard GSR is £31,999.00, so I'm sure if it came here the price would be adjusted accordingly. Still, not for me when there's such great aftermarket tuner parts so readily available. Would be curious to see what it actually puts down on a dyno versus a standard GSR though!

I read somewhere that usually if it is £31,999.00 then it would be priced at $32000 in the us.

(£31,999.00 = $51,000)

It would also be interesting to see some specs on that turbo (as it says it has a bigger one than a stock gsr)

I am assuming it has the standard manual tranny in it, but I didn't see anything at all in the article. I would have thought they would have mentioned a beefed up clutch since they mentioned everything else. Anyone know?
