do any venders even make them?
I could be wrong, but Mike @ QPR can make them. You could pm him otherwise I'm sure he'll post up once he reads this.
Otherwise, I'm pretty sure there are others.... |
I wouldnt get one unless it was proven to shift better. Hughes tried one and I guess it shifted like ass.
I have tried a few and none shifted anywhere near as nice as stock.
The stock 1Gs have a lower shifter stick already. Put a nice low knob on it and it works great.
not the 90s. i was looking on vfaq and those things are long. but besides the 90s the other ones are ok i guess?
90's can use the _____ GVR4 short-shifter. I am drawing a blank on the manufacturer, but it was a shop that did a lot of GVR4 work (had one on the 10's) but now they gave that all up. I am sure someone here knows who I am talking about.
My 1G came w/one. I have no idea what brand it is or anything else but the 50 miles I drove it before garaging it, it shifted nice.
i believe mofugas used to make a short shifter for 1Gs. In my 93 it's like rowing a fucking boat compared to the b&m on its shortest throw on my 2G
I made one for mine a while ago and it works very well. I should clarify that it is a shortened stock one. I only shortened the length of the top rather than adjusting the shifter legs, I also redid all the stock steel bushings with oil inpregnated bronze ones.
I am probably going to make something a bit more professional a little later in the year after the nutty amount of work at the shop is cought up. If someone wants a stock one shortened up, you can pick them up at a junkyard for like $5 and bring it out to the shop, making it shorter is a pretty simple thing to do. If you want it modified beyone that, we can discuss it at the shop. |
