Re: Dsmlink

yea I went to dsmlink.com and all they had was a chip, the wire, and the CD but I thought dsmlink was an already put together ecu with the chip already in it? Do I have to have the chip put in?

Yes you need an ECU that is socketed.. think they sell those too.

Do you really not know how to use a search button? I'm all for helping people out, but to start a new thread for something as easily found as this, is kinda ridiculous. Google is your friend.

Re: Dsmlink

You need an eprom ecu, and you need to get it socketed. Shane at DB can do this.

Re: Dsmlink

^ What he said about the eprom and that you need it socketed. I'd call DB and they can get you all set up!

Re: Dsmlink

The best way to do it is to have your vendor send your ECU to DSMLink when you buy the DSMLink. DSMLink will socket it for $30 and you will know it's done right and has the correct kind of socket in it. Some of cheaper sockets that people use for normal chips don't work with DSMLink.

Well could I just have you guys do it?

+1 for that. I just sent my ECU in to the guys at DSMLink a couple weeks ago, just to have them check it over to ensure there are no issues with it. It checked out good but they told me that it had the wrong type of socket in it (thanks again SLS). So I had them throw in the correct socket and it was $26 plus the shipping involved.
