How wide of a wheels spacer can be used on a 1G w/o having to get new wheel studs? I am looking at both 5 and 15mm.

15mm is little too big i think... you should be fine with 5 without having to swap the studs..

I think you want to start looking into wheel studs when you hit about 3/8" of spacer.

And you can do your own damn mm conversion :razz2:

if you really want to be picky
9 mm just under 3/8"
10 mm just over 3/8"

Once again Enes to the rescue. I am looking at a set of 5/16th. If anyone is wondering, this is to get my brakes to clear my wheels. I am either getting a new set of 17's or going with spacers.

I run 5/16 spacers so my slicks clear my struts. The stock studs are just barely long enuff. I believe Hyundai Tiburon lug-studs will fit & they are about 1/4" longer.

Would you drive on the street with the 5/16th spacer? There is also a 7/32nd spacer, but that might be cutting it a lot closer. A piece of cogurated (sp?) cardboard is enough of a spacer for everything to clear and that is measuring about 5/32nd.

Hey Chris, what wheels are on your car? I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to have the same problem or not.... I have 17" Enkei wheels.

You'll be fine, I am running 99 GSX wheels.
