2200/month for renting would be a tough pill for me to swallow. You can own for half that.

Sweet house though.

2200 aint bad for me. Because for the first year when we move, my fiances mom and sister will be living with us. So me and jessica will be only paying $850 (her sister will pay $300 and her mom will pay half of the remainder).
Which compared to the 1 bedroom 1 bath 780 sq ft apartment we are in now currently paying $1800/month. :(

Plus heated garage at that! Looks nice, but too much money for the location.

I'm with everyone else; nice house but too far out and expensive.

Tom has been living in California and drives a DSM, he's used to pissing away money.

Cost of Living in Cali is ridiculous, it's different here. You can't compare rent prices between her and there.

But if you want to spend that kind of coin on renting, then you do what you want. But keep in mind housing prices are low now. You could be spending half of that / month (my mortgage is half of that, and I bought my house when prices were HIGH), still have your relatives living with you, but instead of pissing that kind of money away, it would be going towards YOUR mortgage, building YOU equity. Or you can rent that place for 2200/month, and pay off that guys mortgage for him.

Re: Rental House

Just rent a nice apartment (you were in mine) when you move here, settle back in to MN for a year, then decide what you want to do. I like renting and in all honesty will probably continue doing so for a few more years.

Re: Rental House

well we would like to rent a house because being that we will have her mother and sister with us we would like some space. Plus we are bringing my dog and her sisters dog so we would like a nice yard for the dogs to play in.
I agree forest lake is far but its just one of the houses we saw on the rental site that was worth posting up. :)

nice house! I didn't read anything but you might want to make sure the lift stays in the house, lifts like that can be moved without too much trouble and if I were moving out of a house I would be taking my lift with me.

There are nice nice looking rental townhomes in Plymouth near 169 and Rockford Road you could check out.

i still would like a yard. And the rental prices for nice houses are pretty low (we have seen anywhere from $1300-1700 for 4-5 bedroom with yard and 2-3 car garages.) Which i am totally fine with paying.
Cost of living here in cali is so high. but the wages are about the same between CA and MN in the IT field so im really not worried about having to pay around that for the first year as we will be splitting between 4 people and saving a ton of money.
The key things we are looking for in a place to live-
-at least 2 car garage (not shared spaces.)
- Yard for the dogs to play in
- Must accept dogs
- 4-5 bedrooms
- 3+ baths
- lots of space
- Optional - Good wall to put my TV up (110" screen with space to put the projector around 12 feet from screen)
- We would like to be around the plymouth area or eagan.

Re: Rental House

My buddy still owns the old house I used to live in, he rents it out for around $1300/month. Two car garage, city-sized yard (fenced in), 4 bedroom, 2 bath, tons of room, eat-in kitchen. Not super modern, but its cheap and was a great place to live. Right in the city, not far from downtown, and only about 5 blocks from evo modding central, aka my house :)
