So once it starts getting warmer out where are we going to invade?

Last year it was Krispy Kreme and Porkys.

I think Porkys worked best as it was more central, but KK also had some nice turn outs.

Maybe plan something Mon, Tues, and Wed so people have a few days to choose form?

BUCKY 03-21-2004 10:03 PM

I'm all for KK

Kracka 03-21-2004 10:14 PM

We could do much of the same and just change as we see fit. Maybe make Porky's Tues. rather than Monday since BWW wasn't that great as far as turn-out was concerned. KK worked well on Weds.

Matt D. 03-21-2004 10:52 PM

Agree with Chris. Two days, two different places. If someone wants to suggest something for Monday go ahead.

AJ 03-21-2004 10:53 PM

Yeah, I didn't like BW3 since it was indoors and new people would have a hard time finding the regualrs. What about Monday?

Maybe make Monday and Tuesday Porkys to give a central location 2 days and Wednesday be KK in Maple Grove?

Thursday = day of rest

Fri and Sat are midway and Sunday is usually a car event of some sort.

Sounds good to me, I like the idea of a central place like porkies even though its not really central because Downtown Mpls is central not St. Paul. But its close enough.

KK was fun, only downfall it is far but once a week or every other is fine. I wish there was something more toward the south metro as everything is north of 94 that we do ussually. Are there any places south of like 62 that we can hang out at?

Kracka 03-22-2004 08:15 AM

There was Shooters...

A//// Guy 03-22-2004 09:00 AM

Yea I now, not many people showed up at all and half of the time I couldnt cuz of class at night but this summer will be fun. We might have to start going as early as next week becuase its supposed to be 60 on thursday

john 03-22-2004 10:15 AM

I am in for KKK. I went to Porkeys once and there were not many people. Shooters sucked for me this winter because I had to work till 8 and I have school at 8. Had to have sometime for homework.

JDM 03-22-2004 10:45 AM

I vote Porky's, as I will be a very short distance from there (I will be living in Dinkytown one block from University).

And just to remind everyone, I can and will host a Halo Tourney at my apartment complex (The Melrose). It has a 75 person Theatre with hookups for Game Systems, and a 10 ft tall projection screen. Let me know...

Peter, if you can think of another easy place to meet more on the south side just let us know. I think it has to be a place where we can hang out, have food only if we want. The bad part of Shooters is it was expensive. Yeah, you could go and just stand around, but that's not very fun when you only have a handfull of people.

I like the idea of Mon & Tues being Porky's nights, and Wed KK in Maple Grove. We can always switch up based on turnout....

Kracka 03-22-2004 11:15 AM

Shooters does seem very expensive, I know me and CVD played there for only 2 hours and it came to like $16 or $17! The idea of having to get food/spend money only if desired is a good idea...both KK and Porky's seem to fit that bill. I think we should have a meet at my house where I buy some pizzas and watch everyone else put my car together

SlowWhite 03-22-2004 02:49 PM

My plans.

To get my car up and running. That'll take till about July or so. After that Build the crap out of Jenny's 1G. Probably something simular to my 2G.

And try to make a lot of Movies this summer. I need something new to watch.

Yea Im not sure of anyplace down here that is like KK or Porkies. They worked nicely. I like going its just a drive.

Anybody know anyplace south of 62 that is a good hangout?

2003eclipse 03-22-2004 07:10 PM

you guys are all whinning about a drive, it would be 42 miles for me, anyone else close?

Jana 03-22-2004 07:15 PM

Well, there is a KK in Eden Prairie, and it's right by a few other restaurants (Chipotle, Noodles, Bear Creek Cafe, Ruby Tuesday, Culvers, etc) and Caribou as well. It's got a pretty big parking lot. So that might be an option if ppl want to drive over by my work.

A//// Guy 03-22-2004 07:37 PM

I didnt know that, I thought there were only 2 locations in MN, Mall of america and the one we met at up in the north metro. That is an idea. Its up to you guys, not many people are chiming on where they want to drive to or hang out.

that KK is kinda shitty. Its in a boring area.

Kracka 03-22-2004 09:35 PM

I'd be willing to give the EP KK a try...just once and see how it works out.

AJ 03-22-2004 10:04 PM

The best thing about Porkys is the ability to be outside and covered in case of light rain. KK also adds to that with room inside and it's pretty open for people to see their cars and such. Plus we know the KK in MG doesn't mind us there and Porkys always welcomes people to chill.
