PP and disk...slightly used or just too old? (pics included)

well, my brother and I were cleaning up the garage and I found this! I almost nearly forgot about it. If I remember correctly, I bought it about 2 or 3 weeks after I bought my Galant from a local ex-dsmer off craigslist. He told me it was the ACT 2100. I bought it for $75, put it away in the space I had and it was left in a plastic bag for about a year. Wow...I still can't believe I forgot about this. Upon inspection though, I am concerned about the wear on the PP...is it normal? The wear on the disc looks like it was barely used because of the WHITE writing on it still. just need your guys input on it, help is greatly appreciated. thanks!!

PP looks pretty abused, but might have some life left in it.

So umm... how exactly do you plan on putting a 2g tranny in a Galant VR4? (assuming that's the car you're referring to)

He wants to be able to shatter 4th gear when he starts making big power.

Big power as in more then ~400 fwhp on a dynoguess. You can put a 2g transmission in a 1g if you bolt on the passenger side trans mount from a 1g onto the 2g trans. I would guess you are looking for the double syncro 2nd gear, which is found in most 93-94 1g transmissions. Good luck with the search for a used DSM anything 5 speed still in 1 peace and worth a darn.

I thought the 2G trans was a bolt in for a 1G except the mounting hole for the starter needing to be drilled out in the backing plate. I thought there was a VFAQ on it but it doesn't seem to be there anymore.

I am pretty sure the front mount is in the wrong spot, isn't it? I know a 2g has more room for the compressor outlet where the 1g has the motor mount very close to it.

Re: PP and disk...slightly used or just too old? (pics included)

I would think you could, because the 2g has front/rear mounts on the transmission, they just wouldn't be used in a 1g application since they're on the block. Then just figure out the passenger side one as John said, and the slightly different different starter place mounting holes as Ryan said.
