200lbs Doe and bad luck
Driving to Aarons from my Mom and Dads house. I had no time to react she came out of nowhere. I'm not sure whats going to happen on this one the damage is pretty bad. Core support is pushed back fluids everywhere, a/c doesn't work. It even dented the damn center cap. Also I think the bumper is pushed in but I can't tell in the dark. If it's not hail it's a deer. uuggh

Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
Thats pretty bad. I hope they total it for you because you are not having good luck with this one.
|
Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
That sucks, but I doubt it will total. The front end on those things is so easy and cheap to replace. I'd guess there's only about 3-4k in damage there.

Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
sucks man, glad to see your okay.

Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
Almost as much fun as the guy last year or two years ago that had a deer jump down onto his Durango from an overpass. Made a hell of a mess.
Just glad no one was hurt. |

Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
What year of truck is it? I am going to guess $6k-$7k of damage, it might be close to getting totalled, depending on how bad it is. If they do total it, be sure to buy it back. Then you can get it fixed and make some more cash, then you will be even closer to the diesel!

Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
Took it to leroys today and they came out just under 6K without tearing it apart. How does this work? I hear that if it's over 60% of the vehicles value it will get totaled. I really don't want it to be totaled, I really enjoy this truck and it's almost payed off. Does anyone have and suggestion on how to get as much as possible?
Otherwise I need to get it fixed ASAP cause I'm now driving a 89 shitbox Dienasty. |
Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
It's usually a little closer to 70%, depending on which insurance company you are using. Basically, they will tear it apart, look for anything they might have missed, and if it doesn't total, they'll order the parts and fix it. There isn't really much to the front end of those trucks, so unless the estimator had no idea what he was doing, I doubt they missed much.

Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
In that case let the fixing begin. I talked to the body man and they have no price difference between this frontend and the Denali. So it will be upgraded. I geuss this won't be so bad.

Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
Yeah, the only difference is the grille, and I'm pretty sure they both cost the same

Re: 200lbs Doe and bad luck
