Switchin to E-85
Well, tried selling the Talon, but couldn't get what i wanted out of it, and i don't have the time to part it out as I'm in college, so i have decided to keep it. It was fun a hell to drive before the tranny took a shit, so i am excited to get it back on the road. I have decided i am going to switch to E-85, so i will try to document my progress on here. Also, i am still looking for a transmission, so if anyone has a slightly modified awd 23 spline they are trying to get rid of, let me know.

Re: Switchin to E-85
Looks like one hell of a clean car, good luck with the project!
Also, not sure what kind of funding you have but you can get a shep stage 1 rebuild for about a grand if you're only looking for lightly modified transmission. |
Re: Switchin to E-85
I am looking for something that will be able to handle around 450 awhp, and my price range is 400-700. I may have found a tranny on dsmtuners, but i am still looking.

Re: Switchin to E-85
Why the Unorthodox lightweight pulley? It'll do more damage than anthing else.
|
Re: Switchin to E-85
Was on the car when i bought it, i wasnt aware that they could do damage. I know the give a pretty decent hp gain(around 10hp from what i have read)

Re: Switchin to E-85
Our cars use harmonic balancers. Most people steer away from those type of pulleys. Especially on the 2g's with there whole "crankwalk" thing. It's just not worth the risk, but that's just me.
|
Re: Switchin to E-85
Yeah, i have just been reading up on them. It sounds like most people try to stay away, but i have not found many people who have experienced problems with them first hand.
|
Re: Switchin to E-85
Ive heard both good and bad things about pullys like that, GL.
looks like a pretty extensive mod list, should be super fun! post pics as you progress with tranny, e85, and tuning. |
Re: Switchin to E-85

Re: Switchin to E-85
I am curious about the Cosmetic head gasket and the ECULINK :D Good luck with the project, there are a lot of E85 cars around here.
|
Re: Switchin to E-85
You can get a cosmetic headgasket?
|
Re: Switchin to E-85
I've heard you can get em, but have to make a special request from Mary Kay.
Good luck with the build though man, sounds like you'll have some fun with it. |
Re: Switchin to E-85
Oh haha, i didn't write the list, il have to fix that. I had to fix Keydriver already lol
|
Re: Switchin to E-85

|
Re: Switchin to E-85
I believe he is talking about V3 of dsmlink. They call it ECUlink now..
|
Re: Switchin to E-85
Its actually ECMlink, they were given me a hard time for spelling it wrong, lol :wedgie:
