anyone running stock internal 2.4
just wondering because i know they are pretty high compression for turbo application's

Re: anyone running stock internal 2.4
you cant run a 2.4 stock if it was a sohc and you try to put the dohc on it. the pistons dont have the cut outs for the dohc head in them
|
Re: anyone running stock internal 2.4
The pistons are probably not forged either, so you'd be asking for major trouble. Don't be ghey. Do it right.

Re: anyone running stock internal 2.4
I don't think DSM pistons are forged. But they are designed for a forced induction car at least.

Re: anyone running stock internal 2.4
2.4L's are not cheap, build it right, or stay with your stock 4g63T, people have dyno'ed their cars and got over 500 AWHP which I am sure many people with printouts can back up, 400AWHP for sure.
spend your money elsewhere, like engine management and a turbo |

Re: anyone running stock internal 2.4
i was just wondering. i am building a 2.3 so it doesn't really matter i was just wondering if anyone had run one with stock interals before. i wanted to do one for a dd.
would it be possible to do just piston's or would i need to do rod's also? |
Re: anyone running stock internal 2.4
Aftermarket pistons have a different pin design that stockers, so by the time you machine the stock rods to fit, you could just pony up another hundo or two and do it right. You just can't be cheap and do a 2.3 or 2.4, it's too easy to ruin your block and crank and they aren't cheap these days. Save your money and do it right.

Re: anyone running stock internal 2.4
I've got the parts left over to build a hatchet crank 2.14L. Something to throw on the stand for a rainy day. :boxing:
