$500 Civic DD project
1 Attachment(s)
So I picked up a DD, my dreams of having 2 DD dsm's kinda hit the sh*tter when my engine swallowed a bolt (probably because I was hurrying, never took the intake manifold or TB off, so getting a bolt in there must have been 1 in a million)
So I picked up this nice 5 speed civic, apparently it is an old race horse, it had a 2.0L turbo motor in it. Does anyone have any spare parts for this baby? i need interior pieces lol. I never throught I would ever own an H, but a $500 car is too good to pass up. |
Re: I can haz civic plz?

Re: $500 Civic DD project
What engine is in this? where did you finda a 96-97 civic ex for 500?
|
Re: $500 Civic DD project
the owner of the car towed it back to his house after the following items were stolen from it.
Engine Transmission CF Hood HID bulbs all seats rims stereo I believe the price accurately reflects whats wrong with the car, its gonna be a long and dirty road to get this car back to stock it has the D16y7 in it (i think) single cam, noTEK engine, not the original engine that came with the car, but it works. |
Re: $500 Civic DD project
Thats still a good deal for 500. Civic parts are easy to find for cheap.

Thanks for the suggestions! yeah, the car barely made it to work, i think a tie rod is about to fail LOL, looks like I get to work on it in the parking lot tonight!
The buddy who sold me this used the money to buy a 93 integra, it blew a headgasket on the way to work, lol! I hate hondas!! |
Re: $500 Civic DD project
Honda are great...until dumb people touch them (just like DSM's).

Re: $500 Civic DD project
I am in, sweet ride. What kind of MPG will you get with that?
|
Re: $500 Civic DD project
The stock Honda ECU is a better "standalone" ECU than Megasquirt. You can run Hondata, Crome, Neptune or eCtune. All of those programs are fairly advanced in their tuning and datalogging capabilities.

Re: $500 Civic DD project
Wow, from reading about chrome, this is amazing! I wish DSM's had this kind of programability! -FOR FREE
So far I put in 9.8 gallons to fill 'er up went 210miles on the first half of the tank, and then the car started pulling VIOLENTLY to the right. But that should be about 40 MPG I think the transmission may be the problem, because the axle and the bearing look ok. |
