Beater 2g

I've always loved the look of a 2g eclipse, and when I saw a black 95 gsx go up for sale on mnsc for 2k I just had to pick it up. It has been a pretty slow process, but it's been really fun project and I've learned more than i ever thought I could.

Story:
Picked the car up in September of 07, with "engine problem."

I tried to get the car running for a couple days but decided it wasn't worth the money or time to figure out what was wrong with it. So it sat for a while before I had some time to start ripping it apart.

During tear down I figured out why it had "engine problems"...

At least I made a crank puppy out of it

Over the next couple months I picked up a rebuilt 6 bolt motor and some other goodies. The car also just kinda sat there most of the winter because of no real time to work on it.

Fixed the normal 2g rust problem

Finally got things all put back together about a month ago.

Looking good. Thats how my car is gonna be like if i keep it. Bad thing is I got no room like you do. Fixing it would take about the same amount of time.

Good job tho. Well done.

Dude, awesome build! Take that thing to shane filled with E85 (I'm assuming that's why you went with the 1600's?) and put down some powa. I'm sure there'll be some kinks in it but damn, a year in the making (only!) and looking good. Any suspension mods on that thing? Springs/shocks, and at least pads would be good :)

Thanks Scheides. Yes, it is running e85 and will be going up to Shane soon I hope. Hell the car probably wouldn't be running without Shane, I asked him a random question everyday for a while there about the 6 bolt swap and other little things, Shane is the man! Stock suspension is still in it, kinda ran out of money :( Some springs/struts will probably be the next thing I buy, as I don't really like it looking like a 4x4. Got some hawk hps pads on it and some fresh rotors. It also has a couple new calipers as it seems like every bolt on this car is rusted and wants to break off. Still have a LOT left to do but she's getting there.

Thanks again for the kind comments guys!

haha Thanks Brian! I didn't think it'd get done till next year for a while there, but seeing fast cars everyday in the summer lit a fire under my butt to get it done. I still think of my build as small after seeing Shane's turbo next to mine :rollinglaugh:
