engine bolt pattern
My eclipse is may 1992, do I have a 7 bolt? I don't know how to tell without pulling the tranny or know of an easier way to find out.

Yay, shoulda asked about that earlier. This car is broken at my work and I was searching around online for a clutch kit for it since the one that is in it is shot.
I came across a kit thats $100 with flywheel. |
Re: engine bolt pattern
$100 with a flywheel? That's got to be a quality piece. Your car will be a 6 bolt.

Re: engine bolt pattern
I don't know if it is even a good brand or not. The name is Sachs. It is from one the online auto parts warehouses. If it sounds fishy to anyone I wont go for it. I could just go with the bare minimum southbend.

Re: engine bolt pattern
Sachs is actually pretty well known, that just seems like a ridiculous price. Many people have used the Exedy kits with alright results for a stock replacement.

Re: engine bolt pattern
Look at the oil pan when the oil pump/front case is. If its flat then you have a 6 bolt. But if it dips down around the crank shaft area then its a 7 bolt.

Re: engine bolt pattern
If I remember, you don't have to worry hardly about the 7's on a stock car right?
