rocket accident!!

Well incase none of you know I was in a motorcycle accident on the 16th of september of 08...

I am alright just a brused up and swullen leg, hip and shoulder... I had a 03 suzuki gsxr 600 that I loved to death.. lol... but really it was awsome bike and I was hoping that it would be fixable, but I just found out today that it would cost $8,000!!!! for it to be repaired! so its totaled beyond belief.

The bike was custum so it had different rims, tail, full race exhaust and it was mint! It will be missed.......................... :frown:

Incase you were wondering the accident happend on 35w and 36 going east. I had just merged onto 36 and it was traffic so I merging into the middle lane that was stop go. My buddy was in the middle lane with me but he was on the left side. He took off into the far left lane because there was nobody there, so I tried to follow him and when I did the traffic started to go and when I was looking over my shoulder to see if cars were coming I started to merge and when I looked ahead of me the car slammed on his brakes cousing me to clip his driver rear quarter panel and me getting my leg crushed in between my bike and his suv. I was dragged a little bit and when I fell off my bike was going to fall onto me but I kicked the bike with my left leg so it went the opposite direction.... Long story I know.

the whole front end was completely pushed in and was all bent up but I still rode it home.

The middle one was before the accident and the other is just a bad pic because of the small space i had to take it

Ouch man, glad you are doing ok though. Replacing/fixing a bike is a lot better than fixing stuff on your own body.

Ouch, luckily you are ok! Just look at things like this as a learning experience.

Ya thanks guys!! I'm not going to stop riding.. but I'm out for the season and its ok I guess because winter is around the corner! I am really REALLY going to miss my bike!! :( It was so perfect I almost just wanna get the exact same one and do the same shit to it....

As for the leg, I have fluid build up in it and am prob. going to have to go in and have it tapped! Not looking forward to this. My hip is doing better but is still sore...

I had a shit load of fluid on my knee too, I ended up getting a cracked knee cap out of it that never did set correctly. They couldn't see it though because of the swelling. They will likely tell you to take 1000mg of ibuprophen a few times a day to help with the swelling, that is what they told me. I cracked mine racing bikes up at Brainerd.

Sucks to hear about this. Like Jet said, take it as a learning expierence. And remember to keep your head on a swivel. Heal up soon!

This is true I was only wearing jeans... I dont think that I would ever wear motorcycle pants though.. I wouldn't be able to stand the heat... This could be my fault but its not my thing.. I think at least I wear a helmet and jacket when most people don't do either.

Re: rocket accident!!

You should check out some mesh pants. That's what I normally wear unless I'm commuting, or just taking a short ride. They have all the padding of normal riding pants, but they're made from mesh. Granded they aren't as effective as leathers, but at least they offer more protection than jeans.
