Car shakes and studders?

I have a 95 gsx, with basically no mods except intake, bov, exhaust.
I was getting onto the highway, so i was going pretty fast to merge into the highway on 2nd to 3rd gear.

To the point, after I got on the highway and sped up a bit and slowed down, I'm not sure what happened but my car just started to shake and studder whenever I stepped on the gas. Even at idle, my car would shake and studder.

The engine doesn't die, but I am not sure how to explain it. I took it for another drive on the small streets, as I push on the gas, it starts to shake and studder. Highway driving, any time i push on the gas it shakes and studders. Coasting is semi decent to being normal, but giving it any gas makes the car seem like its gonna fall apart.

Anyone have any idea what this could be?

MASSIVE boost leak?

Haven't had time to really check it with all this rain today and other things.
Sounds like massive boost leak. I hope its not a blown turbo or anything like that.

So it's constantly doing this now? Or just sometimes? Check engine light come on by chance?

Sounds like bad plugs/wires to me. How long has it been since you changed the plugs and what are they gapped to?

Since my car is basically stock, I just buy the spark plugs as they are from Nappa and plug them in. BPR6ES. I last changed my plugs last winter. Just checked all spark plugs today and replaced them all.
The two outside spark plugs look fine. The two inner spark plugs are melted.

What could this mean?

No boost leak at all.

Melted plugs normally mean you are running too lean. What is the boost at?

Boost is set at 12psi.

I would get a datalogger on it, or take it to the fall dyno day. You can get on a wideband there and see if you are lean at all.

Re: Car shakes and studders?

yikes ive only melted plugs running a b16g at 20psi on stock fuel

Re: Car shakes and studders?

I don't have a datalogger, but am going to run a compression test. This stinks b/c i'm goin to cali for awhile and won't be back for awhile. I won't be here in town for the dyno day either.

Do you think there could be other reasons to why my engine is behaving so bad? Could it be internal problems?

The engine not only shakes and studders, but at times it is hard to start the car now as well. Takes about 30 seconds to start the car.

What kinda of turbo you running. if your running the 14b or any 16g, check your J pipe. the J pipe seems to always leak boost. Thats what happen to me on my 95 tsi. Sounds like a boost leak

My 95 gsx does this too. when cruising above 2200 rpms it will all of a sudden start misfiring, and there is no hp at all the pedal has to go to the floor just to keep up with traffic. I however have a 6 bolt swap in mine.
