Help!!!
 

has this ever happened to any one..... so the alternator went out on my 90 TSI FWD. upon doing so the head lights, fog lights, tail lights and dash lights dont turn on when i turn the switch. the blinkers work, the brake lights work when i hit the brakes, the hazards work. i have checked all fuses and all relays and that is not the issue. i am not too familiar with dsm's, im mostly into nissans. i am just wondering if there is anything else i should look at cause right now, i am thinking about getting a new blinker/head light switch. thank you -josh:eek:

Did you check the alternator fuse in the engine bay itself; I believe its a 80amp on a 90. Either way the problems you are having sound a lot like that. That fuse will make your car do crazy things. The only other thing I can think of is if your alternator voltage regulator went inside then it could have cooked numerous things possibly. Its hard to tell.
