Hey,
I was wondering if on a 3 inch turbo back exhaust, if a 2.5 inlet on the muffler is going to hurt performance. I know that the muffler doesn't really add anything, but could it be a point of noticable restriction? Thanks, James |
Your muffler should be the same diameter as your exhaust piping. It would cause a noticable restriction.

your mufler is as big as your smallest bottle neck.. as in your case .. its worthless to have the 3" and then down to 2 1/2 .. creates a lot of turbulence...

If it was me I would just run it with no muffler. LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES Cut it off at the down pipe.

Yea and get annoyed at how loud your car is, and it sounds like ass and it gets you pulled over alot. Sounds good.
I would get a 3"... dont downsize at the end of your system. In the end you'll regret it. |
James call up Flowmaster to see what they would recommend for a 3" muffler for a 4 cylinder turbocharged car. If whoever you speak with doesn't know what he/she is talking about, ask to speak directly to their R&D Department, that should put you in touch with a man by the name of Kevin McClelland.
