HDR Attempt #1
HDR is the shiz, if you don't know what it is, check these links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging http://flickr.com/search/?q=hdr%20evo&w=all Here is my first attempt, done using a basic canon dig camera and photoshop CS4. http://www.scheides.com/albums/augus...HDR1.sized.jpg Not amazing, but not aweful IMHO :P High res: http://www.scheides.com/gallery/augu...vo_HDR1?full=1 |
Re: HDR Attempt #1
I think it looks really good. You got just a tad white washed in the back by the garbage cans but some careful burning in PS:CS4 would touch that up very nicely.

Re: HDR Attempt #1
Pretty nice pic.
Open parking lots and sunsets are the best for hdr's though |
Re: HDR Attempt #1
I think a little cropping and your golden.

HDR=Home Depot Racing
I seriously just jumped to the picture and was trying to see if you had some kind of lip on there made from some trim crap or something lol. |
Re: HDR Attempt #1
HDR is really hard (read: pretty much impossible) without having an uncompressed raw image file (gif, jpg, etc. are compressed), and the image can not be overexposed with bright white light anywhere in it. It's cool to see what you did though, Photoshop is fun. :) Check out Adobe Lightroom too.

Re: HDR Attempt #1
To me it just looks like a normal day picture. I see no hdr.
|
Re: HDR Attempt #1
I've got CS4 and Lightroom, CS4 comes with an HDR rendering utility built-in, works pretty good!

Re: HDR Attempt #1
Yea that doesnt look too hdr-ed, maybe the trees look a little like it.
I really want a nice camera to take some sweet pics, been pondering picking up one up and attempting to shoot like this. I wish... http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...toshoot/E1.jpg |

Fatty, here's one of the originals for these pics:
http://www.scheides.com/albums/augus...7951.sized.jpg http://www.scheides.com/albums/augus...7940.sized.jpg The 'look' I'm going for can be seen in the second link in the first post, people have done some amazing HDR renderings and posted them to flickr, just blows my mind. This is kinda where i'd like to go: http://flickr.com/photos/mingstersol/2045912496/ |
Re: HDR Attempt #1
HDR just needs the correct balance of light and dark and no direct sunlight to be effective.
|
Re: HDR Attempt #1
In the dog pic someone really needs a tan. LOL jk
|
Re: HDR Attempt #1
Yeah, I was thinking the same. Them legs almost overloaded your white balance. Jeans next time :P

Re: HDR Attempt #1
That is really cool, I have never heard of this before. I really like taking pictures and had a lot of fun last year when I took a 35mm class at college. I have a Canon XTi but I really need to get photo shop so I can really finish up my pictures. Can you do this on other programs just by adjusting contrast and hue, or is it really something more than that? Also, any suggestions on where to get photo shop for a good deal or what edition is best?

Re: HDR Attempt #1
Is that Supra pic taken at Elite? That picture looks amazing!
|
Re: HDR Attempt #1
Yeah, thats Elite
Looks a lot different without all the shelves, tools, dyno, and automotive stuff along the walls. |
Re: HDR Attempt #1
Hot damn that pic at elite is awesome. Too bad its empty now.
|
Re: HDR Attempt #1
Elite is empty now? That pic was taken pretty recently.
|
Re: HDR Attempt #1
Yup, about a month ago they cleared everything out. I was installing alky kits and intercoolers in S4's just before they took out the lifts.

Re: HDR Attempt #1
Neat.
Didn't know about HDR and wanted to attempt it too. My digicam doesn't take auto bracketting with RAW format so I did it with jpg. As you can see, I just download Photomatix Pro trial and used that (just have that watermark on it) http://images.computer4me.com/hdr/hdr1_tractor.jpg http://images.computer4me.com/hdr/hdr2_tractor.jpg Fun stuff to play with. I was cleaning the tractors (Cub cadet, Simplicity, and Minn Moline) and decided to take a pic of it yesterday. I used +- 1/3EV but the +- 1EV worked a little better I think. |
