Thermostat Housing Wire tore - Help determining which

Which wire is this? I'm not sure if it's a temp sensor or what. As you can see in the picture, there are 3 "round" plugs, and the torn one(on top) is the one I'm wondering about. The other end was a black square female end. Has 2 wires. I believe green/yellow, but that's just off memory.

Can anyone assist me in determining which it is, if so, do you have a harness you can cut?

If I used an aftermarket Water Temp gauge would I be able to just cap that wire off and forget it, and run the aftermarket gauge? Maybe wire the aftermarket gauge in, then run the "torn" wire into that so I won't have a dead gauge in the cluster?

Either that or I'm looking for a new pigtail for the damn thing, anyone have one they could part with?
