Job Openings!
1 Attachment(s)
I work for PaR Nuclear, owned by Westinghouse. It is located in Shoreview, MN. Our company is growing rapidly and we are in need of field technicians.
Not sure if anyone on here would be interested, but figured I'd throw this out there for anyone with a technical backround looking for a job. Good electronic and mechanical skills are required, as well as some form of schooling/2 year degree in any sort of technical field (electronics, motor controls, PLC programming). Expect a bit travel to go along with this job. Not just US travel, but all over the globe. If anyone is interested, hit me up in a PM and I can explain more to you, and let me take a quick gander at your resume and see if you are in fact qualified for this position. If so, I can instruct you on how to submit the resume through the proper avenue's so it gets to my supervisor. Attached is a screen shot of all openings we have right now. Again Field Service Tech is not on this list, but they ARE hiring. I've already submitted one persons resume to the supervisor. Here you can find more info on all our openings. https://sjobs.brassring.com/EN/asp/t...716&siteid=113 go to Search Openings, then select the Work Location: Shoreview, MN That will show all openings at our office. There may be more also, so don't be afraid to ask. |
Re: Job Openings!
Just thought I'd bump this back up to the top if anyone missed this.
Also next year more then likely, they are going to be looking to hire in different positions as well such as Engineering, and Shop Electrical/Mechanical Manufacuring. If anyone is interested in more info, gimme a shout. |

Job benefits: your poop glows in the dark!!

Re: Job Openings!
Werd!
Also, I should mention that this are real jobs, not just something for someone fresh out of high school who thinks they might be able to do something like this because they can turn a wrench on their car. You will need some sort of experience, training, something... So please don't send me a PM about this if you are not qualified. |
Re: Job Openings!
Does this company employ mech engineers? I graduate in may!
|
Re: Job Openings!
Floppy, if you want to know anything about the company, here's our website.
http://parnuclear.com/ParNuclear/index.shtm And to answer your question, YES. I think right now we have around 15-20 mech engineers. FYI: Engineering most of the time here is a contract to hire (i think maybe 6months) situation. And as of right now, it's looking like nuclear is on a huge growth path, so as long as you aren't worthless and piss off those around you, I'd say pretty good chance you'll be hired on at the end of the 6 months. Once you are hired on, you'll start to get the health benefits, 401K, pension, etc... it's not too bad of a deal. When you get close to graduating, let me know and I can just go straight to the HR guy and ask him about it. I'm also in engineering so I can also talk straight to the guy who "would be" be your Manager. |

If McCain gets elected, you'd really be busy. Make sure you get stock options. :aikido:

Re: Job Openings!
bump for a good post.
My work is laying off some people this week and it's good to see that there are industries that are still hiring esp. in this current economy. |

Plus figure in that right now probably a little more then half of our work is international. China and Korea need a LOT of energy, so there are new construction plants all over there. Right now is a good time for nuclear. Question Floppy, are you certified to do seismic calculations? I think our Mech Engineers do lots of that. |

Re: Job Openings!
Yeah Bush just signed the India deal. We still can't sell to them as there's other things that need to take place, but Bush's approval was the big step that needed to take place.

It was more about India being a "Developing country" and being at the point where it was inevitable rather then anything Bush had anything to do with. |
Re: Job Openings!
India (and China) are collections of a comparatively small (15%) wealthy and middle class who are living quite literally on the backs of the other 85% of the country (peasants). The next serious wars will be civil wars fought in both places.
The current and future wars in the Middle East and Africa are nothing compared to civil wars in India and China. |

Take another poli sci class. But I'll respond to your threadjack: I don't know about China, but India is far from a civil war. The middle class is the fastest growing segment in the country and people in all classes are moving up. There are huge infrastructure moves and industries being created and jobs come with it. Quality of life is much better then it was and has been a steady/consistent improvement for the last 20 years. People are happy. This is from no books or no professors, this is from first hand information from family and years of my life spent there(many three month trips/visits). |

Re: Job Openings!
OK...
I should have posted this right away: https://sjobs.brassring.com/EN/asp/t...716&siteid=113 Go to that link, click on Search Openings, then change the WORK LOCATION to Shoreview, MN. That will bring up all current openings at my location. Field Service isn't showing up right now, but if that is something anyone is interested in, they are almost ALWAYS hiring. If anyone is interested in that, just let me know, and I can approach my old Manager from when I was in Field Service, and see what he says. |
Re: Job Openings!
I've just submitted one persons resume to the Field Service supervisor.
I attached a screen shot to the first post as well showing the different jobs they are hiring for right now. |
