just wondering if anyone might have an idea as to what this stray wire is
I'm gonna try to fallow the wire to see if I can fighre it out, but the car seemed to run fine without it connected to anything and I can't see anywhere near by where it would go, any ideas anyone?

There should be a 1/4" spade terminal on that wire, female. It goes right next to the other sensor, on the right side, on the thermostat housing.

Thank you, I was just gonna say that it is a yellow wire with a green stripe. Now that you say that jet their is a open place on the right sensor so thank you jet, I didn't see it. I'm re-sodering the wires and putting sleves over them.

That would be for your coolant temp gauge, and a female spade connector is need as JET said.

Not having it connected for a while couldn't cause any damage to the engine could it? My guage seemed to be working correctly. All done, thanks for the help everyone.
