Galant Question

Does anyone know where the 1995 Mitsubishi Galant engine mount is located? And is it easy to replace it yourself or would it be better to let an auto shop do it?

Re: Galant Question

I would guess the 7g galant is similar to the 2g under the hood. One mount will be on the timing belt side of the motor, higher in the engine bay right in front of the strut tower. Then there will be 1 and the end of the transmission bolted to the frame rail. Then there will be 2 torsion mounts in the front bottom and rear bottom of the transmission where it bolts onto the block, I would think its one of these if the motor is moving a lot front to rear.

Re: Galant Question

to replace the mounts in the front and rear would I have to take out the engine? Or can I just put the jack under the engine to hold it up while I put in the new mounts.

Re: Galant Question

replace them one at a time. you could also post this on TGC cause there are 7G owners there.

Re: Galant Question

I would do 1 at a time and you should not have to pull the engine, this is not a clutch job on a Saturn.

Re: Galant Question

Yeah It be best to do one at a time. Gonna replace the front and rear mounts and the transmission mount. It The clunk is from the rear of the engine so I think it's the rear mount or tranny mount.
