My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
I really never thought it could be that easy. Well it wasn't "easy", but it surely wasn't nearly as tough as people make it seem to be.
Small story: I stepped on the scale 6 months ago or so, and realized that I was becoming a fat lazy piece of shit. I am 21 years old and should be in my "prime", not becoming a fatfuck. That made me a little mad at myself, but I was also doing other stupid shit at the time, so I decided that it was time to make some life changes. I didn't really want to do anything drastic, but some drastic stuff ended up happening. I joined the Gym Feb. 14th of this year, and at first just focused on weight training, because I felt weak. I soon realized that in order to lose weight like I wanted to (for the summer), I would need to do much more cardio, so I kind of started working on that. At first, I could hardly run a mile, and by March I hated the treadmill with a passion, but it was finally becoming warm enough to run outside. Once I started running outdoors, I actually started to enjoy it, soon I was doing 2-3 miles a day whenever I had time to run. By the beginning of May, I was starting to get these crazy thoughts in my head like "I could probably run a marathon by the end of this summer if I wanted to" and "I think I should go run 10 miles today". Stuff that not long ago I would have laughed at myself for thinking. My longest run to date is a little over 12 miles in just under 2 hours, which isn't all that bad, but still by no means fast. I feel 1000x better about myself, but I still have a ways to go before I am fully happy with how I look. I was secretly hoping my nose would get a bit smaller, but no such luck :(. I was eating unhealthy as hell and drinking 36-60oz of pop a day, now I don't even touch the stuff, and I eat mostly healthy (have to eat unhealthy sometimes, it tastes so good!). Oh, and I have never once turned down a beer, so alcohol has always been around.(Only been 21 for like 9 months!) 5 months ago: 238lbs of pure fat and man-titties! http://picasaweb.google.com/retardra...74940192590754 http://picasaweb.google.com/retardra...74941643658962 Tonight: 188lbs, and slightly less man titties! Still a ways to go! http://picasaweb.google.com/retardra...74941119891762 http://picasaweb.google.com/retardra...74943753007218 Next step: Try to stay around the same weight and build muscle/lose fat. I want to get my bench up to the 225-230lb range (180 max right now) and wouldn't mind developing my arms a bit more and flattening my stomach. |

Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
Great job, keep it up!
I started jogging and rollerblading outside this spring, and its alot better than sitting on the treadmill like I have been. Last night did about 6 miles I think, but my asthma kicks in so I have to slow down the pace at times. |
Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
I find this motivational to get back with my plan. Thanks! Keep up the good work!

Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
Good stuff. I've been trying to do the same also, but I've been getting lazy at it. I need to lose this beergut I've gained since I turned 21 (I also never turn down a beer). Keep it up.

Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
Nice to see a post like this. Keep it up! I've lost 12lbs in the last 3 weeks from chaning my diet and cutting down on portions alone. I i heal up from my wisdom teeth I'll get going on weights.

Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
Now my goal is to stay around the same weight but convert what I still have for fat to muscle.
I don't really want to get any smaller than I am now, I just want to get rid of the small little stomach that is still there and turn my man tit's into some real pecs. And of course some arm/leg work just because. Hopefully by November I look pretty close to how I want to. |

also a word of advice for anyone wanting to start running, DO NOT RUN IN CHEEP SHOES! I did that a few months ago and it really messes with you knees and back, Im sure it will cause damage over time too. |
Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
I've been thinking about this as well. I've never been overweight and have never quit going to the gym for more than 3 months in almost 22 years. But I've climbed up to 170lbs from being 160 last summer. I hate cardio, but every year I get older, it's harder to keep in good shape. I'm going to add at least three sessions of running or biking every week as well as step up my weight training from two to three times per week. Now I just need to find the time for all of this with three businesses, a family and summer fun. Doh.

Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
I already have a low calorie whey protein powder that worked great before I quit lifting and focused on weight loss.
120 calories (18 from fat) and 22g/protein per serving. It doesn't taste too good, but it works. |
Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
You have helped to push me that much further, i have only been doing something once or twice a week, i think that i just need to make it a priority.

Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
If you need any help putting together a workout regime I can help. I take passion in weight lifting and it is my biggest hobby.

Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
Its definitely hard if you stop, even for a week at a time. Your body changes so fast if you stop working out regularly. Its amazing how sore you get once you start back up if you do take a break.

Re: My personal bragging post! (weight loss)
I have been up and down on the scale over the last 5 or 6 years and it really does feel amazing when you get down to a "proper" weight for your frame. I am overweight right now and would like to loose about 30 lbs. Us people that want to do this should start the mitsustyle weightloss club or something.
