You should see if craig still has the car he was parting. it was a 90 converted to 1GB front end. You could probably get the parts from him.

Re: 1990 laser body conversion Q
his car is going to scrap. but the fenders are off of it the hood has some rust on it. but would need to know by tomorrow if you wanted the hood. I have a set of brakets to do the head light swap already to go back on to a 1ga

i dont want a rusted hood, but how much do you want for the head light bracket?

Re: 1990 laser body conversion Q
From my experience, you're gonna have to cut off some of the metal on the chassis to get 1gb rear and front end. Talon bumpers are way different than eclipse / lasers ( rear end). The only tip is to be careful, use the proper tooling and be sure to not fail at metal working :)
Just realized you're only doing front end. I'm 90% sure you're gonna have to cut a bit still. The 1ga pop up enclosure won't allow the 1gb headlights to fit properly. There's some wiring changes too obviously. |
Re: 1990 laser body conversion Q
Sorry to call you out on this one pimpin, but you are wrong, everything is bolt-on for this swap.
green hornet, dont do it! popup headlights are awesome |
Re: 1990 laser body conversion Q
we you are also wrong. it is not a bolt one at all. If you want a 92 talon rear end you need to drill off the reweld on the brackets for the rear bumper. you also have to weld on the headlight brackets. I did it all to my bro's 90 talon swaped it all to 92 talon.

Re: 1990 laser body conversion Q
Yeah, for the rear of the car, there is probably alot of work.
But honestly, for the front of the car, i remember everything dropping in, which bracket needed to be welded? for the life of me I cant remember being any problems in the swap i did. |
