How far down runner #2 should I tap for EGT?
Does where I have a mark look good or should I move it more towards the collector?

Re: How far down runner #2 should I tap for EGT?
People usually put it in runner #1 I think, or if you're crazy, put it on the bottom of the manifold so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb :D
Where you have marked is fine, but if you leave it on that runner, move t towards the head just a tad. |
Re: How far down runner #2 should I tap for EGT?
I read that most people put it on #1 but apparently #2 is the first cylinder to lose fuel. I think more so in a high boost vehicle, oldman in another forum said #2 is the best about mid way down the runner. So I will leave it on #2 and move it just a little bit towards the engine head, what do you think?
does this look better? http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7...2011rg7.th.jpg |

Put it underneath, placement isn't that important on a stock mani. It's an eyesore up top.

But ontop of the mani is easier access. I am going with functionality. I might just go with #1 because everyone else has.

Put it for sale on eBay. Thats the best spot for EGT gauges.

Where you marked looks fine. Most Evo's tap in #2; the reason DSMers tap in #1 is because its easier.

Here are some picts of the finished product. Note to self, wear gloves porting next time. I will probably have metal shards from this port job embeded in me for years.
